The OpportunityWorking closely with solicitors and legal executives, you will support a varied caseload of wills and probate matters from initial instruction through to file closure.
This role is particularly well suited to a law graduate or aspiring solicitor seeking hands‑on exposure to private client work, with the opportunity to increase responsibility over time through structured training and supervision.
What You’ll Be Doing- Assisting fee earners with wills, probate and estate administration matters
- Opening and closing files in line with regulatory and accounts procedures
- Preparing and organising legal documentation
- Liaising with clients and third parties, providing timely progress updates
- Supporting billing processes and recovering outstanding monies
- Maintaining accurate case records and documentation
- Contributing to continuous improvement of office systems and procedures
- Supporting a safe and compliant working environment
- Strong client care skills and a professional, approachable manner
- The ability to organise and prioritise work effectively under supervision
- Confidence communicating clearly in writing and verbally
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- The ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Comfort handling client enquiries in a calm and professional way
Experience working within a law firm is desirable but not essential
Previous exposure to wills and probate work would be advantageous
- A law degree or equivalent legal training is preferred
