Haggerty Jaques are supporting a leading national law firm in the search for a talented Health Litigation Lawyer to join its growing Leeds team.

This is an outstanding opportunity for a Health Litigation Lawyer who is passionate about high-quality defendant clinical negligence work and is looking to develop within a nationally recognised, award-winning practice.

You will join a highly regarded Health Litigation team acting for NHS Resolution, NHS Trusts and other clinical negligence defendants. The team has earned national recognition for its public sector work and continues to invest heavily in its people and regional presence.

As a Health Litigation Lawyer, you will handle a varied and intellectually engaging caseload, working alongside experienced partners and senior lawyers who are genuinely committed to development and progression.

This is a full-time role with genuine flexibility built into the culture.

You will manage your own caseload of clinical negligence matters from instruction through to resolution, including:

• Drafting detailed reports and pleadings
• Interviewing witnesses and preparing witness statements
• Instructing experts and Counsel
• Attending Case Management Conferences and application hearings
• Negotiating settlements
• Preparing for and attending trials and mediations

Beyond core case handling, this Health Litigation Lawyer role also offers broader exposure and development opportunities:

• Supporting on higher value and complex claims
• Potential secondment opportunities with NHS Resolution
• Delivering client training and contributing thought leadership
• Supporting junior colleagues and contributing to team growth
• Playing an active role in business development

We are keen to speak with qualified solicitors who:

• Have experience in clinical negligence defence work
• Can manage files independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team
• Understand client protocols, KPIs and the commercial context of defendant work
• Demonstrate excellent organisation, attention to detail and communication skills
• Take a pragmatic, quality-focused approach
