Supply Chain Manager – Leeds – £55,000-£60,000 + Benefits

Elevation Recruitment Group are proud to be partnering with a leading manufacturing business in Leeds who are seeking an experienced Supply Chain Manager to join their team. You will take ownership of procurement strategy, supplier performance, inventory management, and supply chain continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring material availability, cost competitiveness, and operational excellence across the business.

Duties:

  • Lead, develop, and mentor the procurement and supply chain team.
  • Own and continuously improve supply chain and procurement processes to ensure material availability in line with production requirements.
  • Develop and implement supplier qualification, development, and performance management strategies.
  • Drive supplier risk management initiatives and mitigation plans.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, operations, quality, sales, manufacturing engineering, and production control teams.
  • Conduct make-versus-buy analysis to support business and operational strategies.
  • Manage inventory control activities to optimise stock levels and working capital performance.
  • Utilise MRP and Advanced Supply Chain Planning (ASCP) tools to drive purchasing effectiveness and inventory optimisation.
  • Take ownership of Purchase Price Variance (PPV) performance against Annual Operating Plan (AOP) targets.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives using Lean and other recognised methodologies.
  • Monitor and report key supply chain performance metrics including supplier delivery, quality, inventory turns, and cost performance.

Required

Skills & Experience:

  • Proven manufacturing experience with procurement and supply chain leadership responsibility.
  • Strong knowledge of MRP systems, inventory management, and supply chain planning processes.
  • Experience implementing continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, DMAIC, PDCA, 8D, or similar.
  • Strong commercial awareness with proven supplier management and negotiation skills.
  • Experience working with ERP systems within a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 and Quality Management Systems (QMS).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
