Materials ControllerLocation: LeedsSalary: £29,345Hours: Monday to Friday, 39 hours per week (Flexible start and finish times)The OpportunityWe are seeking an experienced Materials Controller to join a busy maintenance and engineering operation in Leeds. This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and proactive individual with a background in materials control, logistics, stores, or supply chain operations.
Working within the Stores team, you will play a key role in ensuring materials and components are received, controlled, stored and distributed efficiently to support operational requirements.Key Responsibilities
- Managing goods inwards and ensuring materials are stored correctly and accurately.
- Raising requisitions and purchase orders.
- Preparing materials for shipment and overhaul.
- Loading and unloading deliveries safely and efficiently.
- Issuing materials to operational teams.
- Carrying out stock counts and inventory control activities.
- Monitoring material usage and stock levels.
- Expediting orders and liaising with suppliers where required.
- Maintaining excellent housekeeping standards to promote efficiency and safety.
- Working closely with stores and operational teams to ensure material availability.
- Following company procedures and maintaining accurate records.
- Strong understanding of materials control, stock management and purchasing processes.
- Experience processing purchase orders and managing inventory.
- Excellent planning and organisational skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to prioritise workloads and meet tight deadlines.
- Proactive approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong commitment to health and safety.
- Counterbalance Forklift Truck Licence.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Eligibility to drive company vehicles in accordance with the company's motor insurance policy.
- Maximum of 6 penalty points.
