Our client is seeking a proactive and hands-on Maintenance Operative to join a brand-new flagship PBSA (Purpose-Built Student Accommodation) development in East London, opening later this year. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a major new launch, supporting the operation of a landmark student accommodation scheme of over 1,500 beds. Working alongside the Maintenance Manager, Supervisor and wider onsite team, you will play a key role in maintaining building services, responding to maintenance issues, and ensuring residents receive a first-class living experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver reactive and planned preventative maintenance (PPMs) across building services, plant and communal areas. Diagnose and resolve day-to-day maintenance issues across mechanical, electrical and building fabric systems. Carry out routine plant room inspections and support the operation of HVAC systems, including AHUs, FCUs and associated equipment. Respond to resident maintenance requests professionally and within agreed service levels. Complete regular building inspections, safety checks and communal area walkarounds.

Assist with fault finding, escalating specialist issues where required. Support contractor management and ensure works are completed safely and to a high standard. Maintain accurate maintenance records and promote a strong health & safety culture across site. Your Requirements:
Previous experience in a maintenance, facilities, building services, hotel engineering, PBSA or residential maintenance role Experience carrying out reactive maintenance and planned preventative maintenance within a live operational environment Exposure to HVAC systems, plant rooms, AHUs, FCUs or building services systems Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills Basic plumbing, electrical and general maintenance knowledge Comfortable working independently while also contributing as part of a wider team Good health & safety awareness and understanding of compliance requirements Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach Experience using CAFM systems would be advantageous F-Gas, HVAC, mechanical or building services experience would be highly desirable Working Hours 37.5 hours per week 5 days out of 7 on a rota basis Weekend and bank holiday working required as part of the rota Shifts operating between 7:30am and 8:00pm What's In It For You?
