Position: Business Support Manager (XN06)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced leader to join our team inthe Department of Clinical Genetics, Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. Weprovide a regional Clinical Genetics service covering the North, East andWest Yorkshire region. The service is a member of the new North East and Yorkshire Genomic Medicine Service Alliance (GMSA).

Main duties of the job

Toprovide management support and leadership to Clinical Genetics Pathology CSU,ensuring the provision of an efficient and effective administration serviceto support the delivery of quality service to patients, to agreed quality standards, in accordance with agreed activity levels.

Thepost holder will be responsible for the management of a large clerical teamat various levels between bands 1-5. They will assist in the performance development of the Department and ensure that services are deliveredeffectively, efficiently and in compliance with Trust Policies and Procedures. In addition the post holder will have a supporting role in the development and implementation of the Trusts strategy city wide and will maintain effective working relationships within a multi professional environment.

Responsible for the leadership and management of staff within the team including performance and appraisaldevelopment, complaints, HR processes etc.

To manage and support change withinthe organisation, being a champion of the software and encouraging and supporting others to adapt to new ways of working.

Assisting in the development of and monitors activity plans for the Department, making adjustments where necessary

Leading and motivating staff in the delivery of quality care across complex clinical and business environments and services.

Participating appropriately in the investigation of complaints

Job responsibilities

This may require frequent adjustment to plans to ensure organisational and departmental priorities are met.

Lead the recruitment and selection of admin staff. Taking responsibility for all stages from completion and submission of ESR forms, arranging adverts on NHS jobs, short listing,interviewing and selection
