Outline of role

To manage daily operational resource, performance and workload throughout the warehouse and supply chain. As part of the on-site management team, you will liaise with customers where necessary, lead team briefings, and oversee training and development. You will also take responsibility for stock integrity control measures and ensure operational efficiency across the site.

Main Responsibilities
  • Manage the warehouse function to ensure best practice is implemented to drive efficiencies and improve service levels
  • Translate office schedules into effective warehouse picking and workload plans
  • Oversee shift patterns and labour management to meet operational demands
  • Implement and ensure compliance with Group HR and Health & Safety policies
  • Liaise with internal teams and customers to support quality standards and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Lead team briefings, training, and development activities
  • Maintain stock integrity through accurate use of the WMS system
  • Develop and maintain strong operational relationships with internal teams, management, parcel carriers, and third-party haulage providers
  • Ensure GDPR principles are adhered to at all times
  • Monitor workflows to ensure consistent and manageable warehouse operations
  • Train new staff to ensure competency, compliance, and adherence to safety standards
  • Delegate tasks effectively and monitor performance outputs
Knowledge And Experience Required
  • Previous experience in a similar supervisory role within a warehouse environment
  • Hands‑on experience managing, supervising, and developing teams
  • Experience working in fast‑paced, high‑volume warehouse operations
  • Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and Microsoft Office packages
  • Strong understanding of workload planning and labour allocation
  • Awareness of health and safety regulations in a warehouse setting
  • Experience working with third-party logistics providers and carriers
Skills Required
  • Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and support others
  • Excellent organisational and workload planning capabilities
  • Analytical mindset with a keen eye for detail and problem‑solving
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to relay information clearly
  • Ability to delegate tasks and monitor progress effectively
Qualifications
  • Formal qualifications in logistics, supply chain, or management (desirable)
  • Health & Safety certification (desirable)
