Responsibilities- Cost Planning & Estimating – Prepare accurate cost plans, feasibility estimates and budgets from feasibility through to detailed design.
- Benchmark costs across project types and regions to ensure consistent pricing and best value.
- Manage procurement requirements and support the tender process.
- Commercial Management – Manage cost control throughout project delivery, track actuals against budget, forecast final costs and review valuations, variations and payments.
- Maintain accurate commercial reporting dashboards and ensure early identification of commercial risks.
- Work closely with the Commercial Manager, Project Managers, Construction Managers, Designers, Facilities teams and Finance partners to provide commercial advice for strategic decision‑making.
- Build strong relationships with contractors, consultants and suppliers to drive performance and value.
- Ensure adherence to Asda commercial governance processes, audit requirements and financial controls, while driving continuous improvement in cost management and reporting tools.
- Promote sustainability, cost‑efficiency and long‑term value in all project decisions.
- Background in Quantity Surveying from practice, client side or a retail background (preferred).
- Demonstrable ability to manage and deliver against challenging cost targets and projects.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and proven ability to work with multiple stakeholders.
- Ability to manage significant change and challenges, finding creative ways to overcome barriers.
- Computer literate with good experience of Excel.
