We are one of the UK’s fastest‑growing facilities management businesses and are looking for an experienced Head of Bid Management to lead our bid function and drive the next phase of our growth.

What you’ll be doing

Reporting to the Chief Growth Officer, you will lead the bid function and deliver high‑quality submissions that convert opportunities into long‑term partnerships.

  • Lead, coach and develop a high‑performing bid team.
  • Shape SBFM’s bidding and growth strategy alongside the Chief Growth Officer.
  • Make bid/no‑bid decisions to focus on the right opportunities.
  • Manage the end‑to‑end tender process for complex, high‑value bids.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Finance, Technology and Operations to develop winning solutions.
  • Write, review and elevate bid content to produce compelling, client‑focused proposals.
  • Ensure all submissions are compliant, professionally presented and delivered on time.
  • Develop and maintain bid content, templates and knowledge libraries to improve efficiency and consistency.
  • Monitor market trends, procurement developments and competitor activity to strengthen our approach.
  • Drive continuous improvement across bid processes, quality and win rates.
What we’re looking for

We are looking for a strategic leader with a proven track record of delivering successful bids within a fast‑paced, commercial environment. You should ideally have:

  • Significant experience leading a bid function or managing complex, high‑value tenders.
  • Demonstrable success in improving bid quality and increasing win rates.
  • APMP Foundation qualification (or equivalent).
  • Outstanding written communication skills and the ability to create persuasive, engaging proposals.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence colleagues across the business.
  • Excellent project management skills, with experience managing multiple bids to demanding deadlines.
  • Experience developing bid libraries, knowledge management and proposal best practice.
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and bid management tools.
  • Experience with in Facilities Management, cleaning or other outsourced service sectors, together with knowledge of public sector procurement, would be advantageous.
