Registered Manager – 'Outstanding'Children's Residential Home
Location: Leeds
Salary package: Starting package around £64,000, with potential earnings exceeding £70,000
Contract: Full-time, permanent
Service: Four-bed children's residential home supporting young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties
Parallel Parents is looking for an experienced and committed manager to lead an established four-bed children's residential home in Leeds.
The home currently supports three young people and has maintained an Outstanding Ofsted rating for five consecutive years
. The previous Registered Manager remained with the service for 23 years, demonstrating the stability of both the home and the wider organisation.
This is not a turnaround project. It is an opportunity to take responsibility for a stable, well-run service with an established staff team and a strong culture centred around positive outcomes for young people.
Applications are welcomed from existing Registered Managers and experienced Deputy Managers who are ready to secure their first registration.
Salary and benefitsThe overall package includes:
- Expected starting package of approximately £64,000
- Annual appraisal bonus of up to £8,362
- Potential total earnings exceeding £70,000
- Fully funded Level 5 Diploma where required
- Comprehensive support through the Ofsted registration process
- Genuine progression into Dual Registered Manager, Operations Manager or Responsible Individual positions
Some elements of the package are allowance or performance-related and are not guaranteed as part of the basic salary.
Key responsibilities- Provide effective leadership and day-to-day management of the home.
- Maintain the home's Outstanding standards and positive culture.
- Lead, support and develop the residential staff team.
- Ensure young people receive safe, consistent and child-centred care.
- Promote positive outcomes across education, health, relationships and independence.
- Maintain compliance with the Children's Homes Regulations 2015 and associated Quality Standards.
- Oversee care plans, risk assessments and safeguarding procedures.
- Manage staffing levels, rotas, supervision and performance.
- Build strong relationships with families, social workers and other professionals.
- Prepare for and lead the service through Ofsted inspections.
- Manage budgets, occupancy and operational performance.
- Complete the Ofsted registration process where required.
The successful applicant will ideally be:
- An existing Registered Manager or experienced Deputy Manager within children's residential care.
- An experienced Deputy with approximately 12 months' management experience and the confidence to step into registration.
- Experienced in leading shifts, supervising staff and maintaining regulatory compliance.
- Knowledgeable about safeguarding, Ofsted requirements and the Children's Homes Regulations.
- Able to demonstrate strong leadership, resilience and sound decision-making.
- Committed to maintaining the home's established standards.
- In possession of the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare, or willing to complete it with full financial support.
- Able to complete the necessary Ofsted registration process.
Applications may also be considered from strong Assistant Managers who can demonstrate substantial acting-up and service-management experience.

- Responsible Individual positions
For an ambitious Deputy Manager, this vacancy provides an opportunity to receive immediate development support, begin the Level 5 qualification where required and progress into a Registered Manager position considerably sooner than with many providers.
