Welder Fabricator

Working in partnership with infrastructure, M&E company based in Bradford, their structural fabrication team need 2 MIG Welder Fabricators due to growing order books of projects. The role is full‑time, Monday‑Thursday only, with a Friday overtime opportunity. All welders are required to fire a Fillet and Butt Weld test on site before an offer is made.

Schedule:

Monday‑Wednesday 7 am – 5 pm, Thursday 7 am – 4:30 pm (37.5 hours per week). Friday overtime is available at T+1/2 rate.

• MIG/MAG welding of mild steel (7 mm‑20 mm thickness) to coded standards.
• Fabricating brackets, beams and structural parts from engineering drawings; all parts undergo box‑to‑box, butt and fillet tests.
• Setting up the welding plant safely and efficiently.
• Identifying and preventing welding defects.

£32,370 for the first 2 weeks; raises to £35,081 after completing Butt & F‑weld qualifications, all funded by the company. With overtime and Friday shift, the OTE comes to circa £40,000.

• Experience with MIG/MMA welding practices.
• Two welding qualifications (codings) paid for by company, to be completed within 2‑4 weeks of starting.
• Competent steel fabrication in line with drawings, specs, dimensions and tolerances.
• Safe setup and use of welding plant and equipment.
• Understanding of welding defects and possible causes.
