As a Facilities Operative specializing in life science environments, you will serve as a key technical resource within our Facility Management team. This role combines hands‑on technical expertise with coordination responsibilities to ensure optimal facility operations for our life science clients.
Position OverviewYou will manage maintenance activities, coordinate external vendors, support critical facility functions, and maintain compliance with industry‑specific standards.
Key Responsibilities Technical Operations- Execute preventive and corrective maintenance on building systems, equipment, and infrastructure (excluding HVAC systems)
- Perform general repair and maintenance work using manual skills and technical expertise
- Support renovation projects, refurbishments, and minor infrastructure initiatives
- Operate forklifts for material handling and goods receipt operations during client absences
- Coordinate external service providers and trade contractors for maintenance and repair activities
- Process and manage work order tickets through first‑level technical support
- Monitor maintenance activities and maintain accurate documentation of completed work
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards per JLL protocols
- Provide event management support as required
- Assist with space management and occupancy planning using CAFM tools
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives for maintenance processes
- Support implementation of new service lines and business opportunities
- Contribute to change management processes through effective stakeholder communication
- Completed technical education/training in relevant discipline
- Extensive experience in industrial Facility Management, preferably in manufacturing or life science environments
- Valid forklift operator certification and demonstrated logistics experience
- Comprehensive knowledge of general building maintenance and repair techniques
- Proven track record in both practical and organizational aspects of facility maintenance
- Project experience in maintenance and infrastructure initiatives preferred
- Independent, reliable work approach with ability to handle varied responsibilities
- Strong problem‑solving abilities and quick learning capacity
- Proactive, hands‑on mentality with strong organizational skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
- Interest in professional development and mentoring others
- Adaptability and enthusiasm for implementing new business areas
- Proficiency in MS Office applications
- SAP experience highly desirable
- Familiarity with CAFM (Computer Aided Facility Management) systems preferred
