Shift Technician (Entry Level Full Training Provided / Power Plant / DCS / SCADA)
Location: Bedford, Bedfordshire
Salary: £28,000 £ 32,000 + Shift Allowance + Benefits
Job Type: Full-Time Permanent Shift-Based

We are offering an exciting opportunity for an Entry-Level Shift Technician / Trainee Plant Operator to join a modern power generation facility.
No prior power plant experience is required full training will be provided. This role is ideal for candidates looking to build a long-term career in engineering, energy, or industrial operations.

- Backgrounds in manufacturing, production, warehouse, or hands-on roles

- Learn to operate and monitor plant systems using DCS/SCADA
- Support safe and efficient plant operation in line with procedures
- Carry out routine plant inspections, checks, and readings
- Respond to alarms and assist with fault finding and troubleshooting
- Assist with planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and basic repairs
- Work closely with the Shift Team Leader and experienced technicians
- Assist with stock control, consumables, and site deliveries
- Participate in planned and unplanned outages
- Operate site equipment (e.g. forklift training provided if required)
- Develop skills and knowledge to progress into a fully competent Technician
- Willingness to learn and develop technical skills
- Interest in engineering, power generation, or industrial environments
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
- Ability to follow procedures and work safely
- Team player with a flexible approach to shift work
- Basic mechanical or electrical understanding (desirable, not essential)
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths & English preferred
- Full training provided no prior experience required
