Senior Strategic Buyer

Elevation Recruitment Group are proud to be partnering with a leading manufacturing company in the Leeds area who are seeking a skilled Senior Buyer to join their team. You will take ownership of the strategic sourcing and procurement of materials, ensuring alignment with engineering specifications, quality standards, and production requirements.

• Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions with suppliers to ensure competitive cost and valu
• Procure materials in accordance with specifications, quality standards, and manufacturing requirement
• Collaborate with suppliers to investigate and resolve quality or delivery issue
• Identify, evaluate, and develop new and alternative sources for product
• Manage supplier relationships to ensure performance expectations related to cost, quality, delivery, and service are me
• Support new product introductions (NPI) and engineering changes by coordinating supplier readiness and material transition
• Participate in cross-functional initiatives and continuous improvement effort
• Analyse demand signals, forecasts, and MRP outputs to proactively manage material availabilit
• Maintain awareness of purchasing policies, regulatory requirements, trade considerations, and market condition

• Purchasing experience in an MRP-driven manufacturing environment
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, outsourced manufacturing, global sourcing, supplier management and commodity categories
• Demonstrated negotiation skills and commercial awareness
• Experience supporting and implementing change management initiatives
• Ability to maintain effective relationships with peers, suppliers, and customers
• Service-oriented mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
