Trainee Lamination Operative

Leeds — £15.44 per hour — Average 40 hours per week — 12‑hour shifts, Monday to Friday (rotating days and nights)

About the Role

We are looking for a reliable and motivated Trainee Lamination Operative to join our busy manufacturing team in Leeds. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a career within a fast‑paced production environment, with full training provided.

Working within our Lamination Department, you will be trained to operate lamination machinery safely and efficiently, ensuring products meet customer specifications and company quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Train to operate and run lamination machinery safely and effectively.
  • Follow production schedules, works tickets, and job specifications accurately.
  • Complete production paperwork and quality documentation correctly.
  • Carry out quality checks to ensure products meet customer requirements.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
  • Report faults, defects, and production issues to management.
  • Assist with machine maintenance and general production duties when required.
  • Follow company Health & Safety, Quality, Environmental, BRC, and ISO procedures.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the department.
What We're Looking For Essential
  • Previous experience in a production, manufacturing, or industrial environment.
  • Good attention to detail and numeracy skills.
  • Ability to work to deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Reliable, punctual, and committed to high attendance standards.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable
  • Experience operating machinery.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or 5S principles.
  • Understanding of quality, health & safety, and environmental standards.
  • Basic mechanical knowledge.
Physical Requirements

This role involves manual handling and requires a reasonable level of fitness, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
