Job Description & How to Apply Below

Genome Design is a Porsche specialist workshop based at The Motorist in Sherburn-in-Elmet, Leeds. A genuine destination for car enthusiasts, with an on-site restaurant, drivers' lounge, shop, and a community of Porsche and performance car owners passing through every day, alongside a working facility most main dealers are unable to match.

We're looking for a Workshop Manager who brings real passion for the Porsche brand and proven experience running or controlling a workshop environment. Whether your background is workshop scheduling, service management, or operational control, what matters most is that you understand how a workshop should run at a high standard. Tools or technician experience is a strong advantage, but it's not the requirement.

This is about management, standards, and the ability to keep a busy workshop running exactly as it should.

What you'll be doing:

-
  • Planning and running the daily workshop schedule across servicing, diagnostics, ECU calibration, and performance builds
  • Managing and developing the technician team: allocation, standards, training, accountability
  • Quality control on every job before it leaves the workshop
  • Keeping customers in the loop on every job, daily
  • Overseeing parts and supplier relationships so the right components are on the shelf when they're needed
  • Owning warranty administration for our Tuning Approved Warranty product
  • Working closely with the owner on workshop capacity, throughput, and standards as we grow
What you'll bring:

-
  • Genuine passion for the Porsche brand and performance car culture
  • Proven experience in a workshop control, coordination, or management role
  • Hands‑on tools or technician experience is an advantage, not a requirement
  • The organisational instinct to run a schedule under pressure without dropping quality
  • The confidence to manage people, suppliers, and customers, and to push back when standards slip
  • Direct Porsche factory or franchised dealer background
  • Prior experience supervising or mentoring a workshop team
  • Familiarity with ECU/performance tuning workflows or warranty administration
What we offer:

-
  • A working environment unlike a typical workshop: on-site restaurant, drivers' lounge, and a genuine enthusiast community at The Motorist
  • Access to premium facilities: in-house Porsche Master Technician, 4000whp hub dyno, and modern diagnostic and calibration equipment
  • Involvement in a broad and interesting range of work, from routine servicing to performance builds and GT platform cars
  • Real progression as the business grows
