CNC Operator / Wood Machinist – Late Shift

Leeds, LS10
£16–£17 per hour, dependent on experience
Permanent, 39 hours per week
Monday to Wednesday, 3:30pm – 2:00am;
Thursday, 3:30pm – 1:00am

The Role

We are looking for an experienced CNC Operator / Wood Machinist to join a busy manufacturing environment producing high-quality furniture for the hospitality sector.

The successful candidate will be responsible for machining timber and board materials to precise specifications, ensuring components are produced accurately, efficiently and to a high standard. You will work as part of a skilled production team, helping to maintain quality and meet production deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

The role will involve setting and operating CNC woodworking machinery, along with equipment such as beam saws and edge banders. You will work from technical drawings, labels and production paperwork to produce components accurately and within required timescales.

You will also carry out quality checks, identify and report any defects, keep machinery and work areas clean and safe, and support the wider production team where required. There will also be opportunities to contribute ideas towards improving processes and efficiency within the machine shop.

Experience Required

Previous experience operating CNC woodworking machinery is essential.

Experience with beam saws, edge banders and CNC software such as WoodWOP or B-Solid would be highly advantageous.

You should be confident reading technical drawings and working accurately to specifications, with good attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality. The ability to work independently, use your initiative and work effectively as part of a team is also important.

We are looking for someone who is reliable, motivated and takes pride in their work. You should be comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and able to meet production targets without compromising on quality or safety
