Sheet Metal Fabricator
Salary: up to £33,592 per annum
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Working Hours:
Monday to Thursday, 6:30am–4:30pm
Overtime:
Available at enhanced rates
A well-established and growing manufacturing business is looking to recruit an experienced Skilled Sheet Metal Fabricator to join its production team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a time-served or experienced fabricator who is confident working from engineering drawings and producing high-quality fabricated components to precise standards.
Key Responsibilities- Fabricating and assembling a variety of bespoke metalwork and fabricated components.
- TIG and MIG welding across a range of materials.
- Reading and interpreting engineering and fabrication drawings.
- Operating equipment including press brakes, guillotines, rollers and punches.
- Inspecting completed work to ensure it meets required quality standards.
- Maintaining accurate and consistent workmanship.
- Working in accordance with company Health & Safety procedures.
- Keeping the workshop and working area clean, organised and safe.
- Working effectively both independently and as part of a wider production team.
The ideal candidate will have:
- 3–4+ years' post-apprenticeship experience within sheet metal fabrication.
- Strong practical and technical fabrication skills.
- Proven experience working from engineering drawings.
- TIG and MIG welding experience.
- Experience operating press brakes, guillotines, rollers and punches.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing quality work.
- The ability to work independently and use initiative.
- A reliable, adaptable and self-motivated approach.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- A strong understanding of workshop Health & Safety and housekeeping standards.
- Aluminium welding/fabrication experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
Monday to Thursday: 6:30am–4:30pm
Friday:
Non-working day unless overtime is required
Overtime available when allocated, paid at time and a half
38-hour working week
