Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer

Alexander Steele Recruitment are working in partnership with an established food manufacturing business in West Yorkshire to recruit a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join their engineering team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join a busy manufacturing environment, playing a key role in maintaining production equipment, minimising downtime and driving improvements in machinery reliability and performance.

Key Responsibilities

* Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on production and manufacturing equipment.

* Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults to minimise production downtime.

* Identify recurring equipment failures and implement improvements to increase reliability and efficiency.

* Undertake root cause analysis (RCA) to investigate breakdowns and prevent repeat failures.

* Support production teams with machinery changeovers and equipment adjustments.

* Utilise the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to record maintenance activities, equipment faults and downtime.

* Maintain and improve equipment performance to support production targets.

* Ensure all maintenance activities are completed in accordance with health & safety, food hygiene and quality standards.

* Work closely with production and engineering colleagues to ensure the smooth running of manufacturing operations.

Skills & Experience Required

* Previous experience working as a Maintenance Engineer, Shift Engineer or Multi-Skilled Engineer within a manufacturing or production environment.

* Strong electrical or mechanical fault-finding and maintenance skills.

* Experience maintaining and repairing industrial production machinery.

* Previous experience within food manufacturing, FMCG or another fast-paced manufacturing environment would be advantageous.

* Knowledge of pneumatic, steam, refrigeration or other industrial systems would be beneficial.

* Experience using CMMS systems and completing maintenance documentation.

* A logical approach to fault-finding with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

* Good communication skills and a proactive approach to maintenance.

What's on Offer?

* Salary of £50,000 - £55,000 per annum

* 4 on 4 off permanent night shift (6pm - 6am)

* Permanent position with an established food manufacturing business.
