Leeds city centre – hybrid, three days a week

Reporting to the Client Director
Big brands. Proper ownership. None of the “work late just to look busy” nonsense. We’re looking for an experienced Senior Client Manager to join a well-established, growing shopper marketing agency working with some of the UK’s best-known FMCG brands.
This is a SAM-level role for someone who knows how to keep clients confident, turn briefs into brilliant shopper work and bring planning, creative, studio and production teams together.
You’ll take ownership of a strong portfolio spanning brand, retail, category and corporate projects. Some briefs will take you from creative thinking right through to in-store delivery; others will involve turning big brand ideas into shopper campaigns that make it easier for people to choose and buy.
There’s plenty to get your teeth into, but also plenty of room to put your own stamp on the accounts.
What You’ll Be Doing- Owning day-to-day relationships with major FMCG clients and becoming a trusted point of contact
- Taking briefs apart, asking the right questions and turning them into clear plans
- Leading shopper and retail projects from briefing through to delivery
- Bringing planning, creative, studio and production teams together to keep work moving
- Managing multiple projects, priorities, timelines and stakeholders without dropping the ball
- Keeping a close eye on scopes, budgets, targets and account profitability
- Spotting opportunities to add value and strengthen existing client relationships
- Line managing and developing a Client Manager
- Supporting the wider Client Services team and getting involved wherever your experience is useful
- At least four years’ relevant agency experience, ideally within shopper, brand or creative marketing
- Experience working with FMCG clients is preferable
- Strong project management and organisational skills
- Confidence dealing with clients face-to-face, over the phone and in presentations
- The ability to manage busy accounts, competing deadlines and plenty of moving parts
- A good understanding of account financials, budgets and commercial delivery
- A curious mindset – you want to understand the client’s business, the shopper and the reason behind the brief
- A friendly, honest approach – kind, collaborative and prepared to say what needs to be said
No jazz hands required. Just confidence, clear thinking and the willingness to pick up the phone when that’s the quickest way to get something sorted.
Nice to Have- Experience managing junior team members
- New business or pitching experience
- Experience across category or corporate shopper work – although this isn’t essential, as the team can help you learn it
- Major FMCG clients – Work across household brands and varied shopper challenges
- Interesting, varied work – From creative brand campaigns to retail rollouts and category projects
- Real ownership – Join established accounts in a strong position, with scope to make your mark
- A genuinely supportive team – Collaborative, down-to-earth and refreshingly low on ego
- Hybrid working – Three days a week, with a newly refurbished office in central Leeds
- Sensible working hours – Typically 9am-5.30pm Monday to Thursday, with a 4pm Friday finish
- Room to grow – Ambitious people are encouraged to step up, challenge thinking and build their careers
This is a team where everyone chips in, nobody hides behind “that’s not my job”, and doing brilliant work doesn’t have to mean working ridiculous hours.
Sound Like Your Kind of Agency? If you’re a confident client lead who enjoys great work, smart people and getting things done without the ego, we’d love to hear from you.
