Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic and collaborative marketing professional to take ownership of developing and executing the in-house paid digital marketing strategies at Opera North. This is a rare opportunity to delve deep into paid digital in the arts. You’ll have agency of the paid digital campaigns Opera North delivers in line with wider marketing campaigns and strategies. You will test ideas, learn what works and make a measurable impact on the success of the Team.

Our 15-strong Audiences team is dynamic and fast-paced, working across touring opera, orchestral concerts, film screenings, gigs and our venue, the Howard Assembly Room. Working with a team of experienced marketers, designers and content creators, this is an exciting opportunity to be part of a talented, award-winning team.

Key accountabilities:
  • Design, build and deliver in-house paid digital marketing campaigns from end-to-end on a range of platforms including Instagram, Facebook, Tik Tok, You Tube, Linked In and PPC (pay-per-click) search and display campaigns.
  • Define and manage the paid digital marketing schedule and use shared planning tools to ensure ads are timely and integrated with all other campaign activity.
  • Manage the paid digital budgets, adjusting where necessary based on strategic insight.
  • Collaborate with the Website & SEO Specialist on keyword research for search ads to ensure the maximum success search rankings and ads.
  • Write and proofread fluent and compelling advertising copy.
  • Target adverts at specific customer segments and consumer groups.
  • Split-test content and creative to learn and continuously improve results.
  • Support the work of the wider Acquisition Marketing team in other areas as required.
  • Perform related duties or projects as assigned / directed.
Person specification:
  • Experience of creating and delivering successful paid social campaigns.
  • Ability to create copy and creative for different audiences.
  • An enthusiastic and collaborative approach to working within a team, as well as autonomously.
  • Well organised with the ability to work on multiple projects concurrently, meet deadlines and plan and prioritise workload.
  • Curious and experimental, excited to test out new ideas, with a data-driven approach to measuring success.
Terms & Conditions:

Contract type: Fixed Term, Full Time (ending 12th October 2027)

Hours of work: 35 hours per week (some weekend and evening work will be required)

Place of work: you will be based at Howard Opera Centre, Leeds (you’ll be expected to travel to other venues as part of the role also)

Holiday entitlement: 33 days inclusive of 8 statutory holidays, per annum (pro rata)

Pension: Opera North will automatically enroll you into the company pension scheme upon appointment and after 3 months’ service will contribute equivalent to 5.5% of your basic pay, should you meet the current legislative criteria. You will be required to make a personal contribution of 2.5% of your basic pay. We reserve the right to make future changes to our pension arrangements.
