This is a rotational post acrossboth sides of the city, with the opportunity to work in intensive care, highdependency, special care and surgical newborns.

Main duties of the job

Therole is to provide and be responsible for the assessment, planning,implementation and evaluation of individualised family centred, infant, childor young person focused programmes ofcare. You will deliver care without supervision and take responsibility as theprime care provider for a group of patients and at all times promote confidence in our commitment to provide excellent compassionate family centred, infant,child or young person focused patient care.

Therole will involve taking charge of the ward or department as necessary in the absence of the Sister or Charge Nurse.

You will participate in the in-service training,preceptorship and mentorship of junior staff and students, as well as maintaining your own personal development.

The service is currently providedacrosstwo sites, Leeds General Infirmary and St James's University Hospital. We havea NICU and surgical unit at LGI, SCBU at SJUH, Transitional Care Unit and an Outreach Service. Clinical

Acts in accordance with the Nursing& Midwifery Council (NMC) Code of Conduct.

Communicate with infants, children,young people, their families and or carers to ensure they have access to appropriate information.

Maintain and deliver compassionateindividualised, family centred, child or young person focused care in accordance with LTHT guideline, policies, values and behaviours.

Maintain a safe working environment.

Provide assessment, planning,implementation and evaluation of nursing care for infants, children or young people, ensuring documentation standards are upheld in accordance with NMC andLTHT guidelines, whether written or computerised.

Promote and maintain positive relationships between all staff involved in the care of patients.

Participate in the audit an devaluation of clinical practice in the interests of promoting and improvingquality care through action on findings.

Undertake duties on other wards or departments as and when required by service demands or patient need.

Act in such a way that safeguards thehealth and wellbeing of children and vulnerable adults at all times. Isfamiliar with and adheres to, the LTHT safeguarding policies.

Education and Training

Contribute to the promotion of apositive clinical learning environment within the clinical area.

Keep up to date with developments,advances and research in individualised, family centred, infant child or youngperson focused patient care.

Participate in research and or education programmes relating to professional nursing issues and practice.

Complete mandatory training annually.

Participate in annual appraisal.

Participate in preceptorship and mentorship programmes.

Participate in teaching, supervising and assessing of student nurses and other supervised…
