Bladder & Bowel Nurse - Community Clinics (West Yorkshire)
Band 7 / Band 8 Equivalent | Weekend Clinics (with potential mid-week work)
Your Medical Services (YMS) is currently recruiting experienced Bladder & Bowel Nurses to support the Community Urology and Colorectal Service (CUCS) for a large community Trust in West Yorkshire.
This is an excellent opportunity to deliver high-quality, specialist continence care within a community setting, supporting patients on complex bladder and bowel pathways and helping reduce waiting times across the service.
The RoleYou will deliver nurse-led bladder and bowel clinics across community venues in Leeds, undertaking both new patient assessments and follow-up reviews in line with established CUCS pathways.
The role focuses on adult patients with complex bladder and/or bowel dysfunction and offers a high degree of clinical autonomy within a well-defined service model.
Key Responsibilities- Undertake comprehensive bladder and bowel assessments for adult patients
- Deliver follow-up reviews and ongoing treatment plans
- Perform physical examinations, including digital rectal examinations (and vaginal examinations where clinically appropriate)
- Carry out and interpret bladder scans
- Deliver pelvic floor therapy, bladder retraining and lifestyle advice
- Provide and support biofeedback therapy (with or without EMG machines)
- Contribute to positive clinical outcomes, timely discharges and appropriate onward referrals
- Complete high-quality clinical documentation, including discharge letters on System One
- Registered Nurse with Band 7 or Band 8-level experience in Bladder & Bowel / Continence Services
- Proven experience running nurse-led bladder and bowel clinics, including new assessments and follow-ups
- Competent in:
- Bladder scanning
- Digital rectal examinations
- Delivering biofeedback therapy (machine-based or non-machine)
- Fully up to date with mandatory training and e-learning, with evidence available
- Able to work autonomously while adhering to Trust pathways, policies and governance
- New Patient Assessments
- Minimum of 6 patients per day (75-minute appointments)
- £540 per day
- Potential to increase to 8 patients per day on a 60-minute template (£720 per day), once familiar with the service
- Follow-Up Appointments
- Minimum of 10 patients per day in 45-minute slots
- £540 per day
- Weekend clinics initially
- Potential to accommodate additional mid-week sessions
- We are currently gathering availability from 14th February onwards to support rota planning
