Job Summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Oncology Research Nurse to join our clinical research team at St James Hospital. This full‑time (1.0 WTE) permanent position involves coordinating and managing oncology clinical trials, supporting and mentoring junior staff, screening, recruiting, consenting, and supporting patients, delivering investigational medicinal products, conducting follow‑up, and leading clinical trials.

• Coordinate and manage oncology clinical trials.
• Support and mentor junior staff members.
• Screen, recruit, consent, and support patients participating in research studies.
• Deliver treatment of investigational medicinal products and conduct follow‑up.
• Lead clinical trials activities and ensure compliance with Trust policy, study protocol, local and national guidance, and legislation.

• Willingness to work towards chemotherapy competency, or existing competency.
• Experience in oncology or clinical trials highly valued.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Excellent communication and patient‑centred care.
• Experience working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
