Meanwood Valley Urban Farm is a long‑established Leeds charity, offering people of all ages and backgrounds the chance to connect with nature,foodand farming in an urban green space. Our one‑acre Market Garden produces organic vegetables for around 130 households through a year‑round CSA scheme and hosts regular volunteer sessions.
We’re looking for an Assistant Grower to join our small, friendly Market Garden team. You’ll work closely with the Head Grower, another Assistant Grower, volunteers and the wider farm team to support all aspects of organic vegetable production — from propagation and planting through to harvesting and post‑harvest tasks.
This role is hands‑on and varied, with seasonal rhythms and opportunities to build skills and confidence as a grower. You’ll also help support and work alongside volunteers, contributing to a safe, inclusive and positive experience for everyone involved.
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has some experience of commercial or community food growing
- Enjoys practical, outdoor work and is comfortable with physical tasks
- Is reliable, has an eye for detail and keen to keep learning
- Communicates well and enjoys working as part of a small team
- Shares our values around sustainability, care for the land, and community food growing
24 hours per week (April–October) 16 hours per week (November–March)
