About the Role
Aptar is seeking a Quality Technician based in Leeds, UK
. This is a fully onsite role working 42 hours per week across a rotating shift pattern (12‑hour day and night shifts, Monday to Sunday).
As a Quality Technician, you will play a key role in ensuring that all products dispatched to customers meet internal and external quality requirements while supporting a strong quality culture across the site.
Responsibilities- Ensure compliance with all relevant Health, Safety, Welfare and Environmental regulations and Company requirements
- Promote a strong quality culture, including training colleagues on product safety and hygiene standards
- Carry out product testing using supplied measuring equipment to agreed specifications
- Analyse test data, interpret results, and produce accurate reports
- Manage calibration of equipment in line with company management systems
- Lead quality investigations relating to customer complaints, supplier issues, audits, and quarantined stock
- Raise and manage supplier complaints regarding non‑conforming raw materials
- Maintain accurate records in accordance with company management systems
- Generate and communicate quality reports (complaints, supplier performance, audit results)
- Conduct microbiological sampling on required products
- Support internal and third‑party audits
- Review quality documents and supplier records (CoA, CoC) to ensure compliance
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and complete corrective actions
- Provide support to production colleagues and adapt flexibly to business needs
We’re seeking a detail‑oriented, proactive individual with strong analytical skills and the ability to work independently. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment, demonstrates sound decision‑making based on data, and communicates effectively across teams.
Education- Third‑level qualification or equivalent in Quality, Science, Engineering, or Plastics
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Self‑motivated, detail‑oriented, and diligent
- Problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently
- Proficient in internal systems such as SAP and Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of industry standards (BRC, ISO 9001, HACCP, GMP)
- Experience using precision metrology tools (CMM, calipers, micrometers, gauges, force testers)
- Familiarity with statistical methods for quality control
- Experience with internal audit processes
- Ability to draft reports and collate data
- Experience in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment
