Operations Coordinator

IMS specialise in the manufacture, machining and supply of high temperature insulation materials and components for use throughout industry world-wide

Are you hands‑on, solutions‑focused, and eager to grow within a fast‑paced operational environment? We’re looking for an Operations Assistant to support the smooth running of daily operations while helping drive continual improvement across the business. This is a varied, highly involved role covering engineering, manufacturing, quality, HSE, and site maintenance — ideal for someone who enjoys getting stuck in, learning quickly, and contributing across multiple departments.

What

you will be doing:
  • Take the operational lead in assigned departments
  • Provide day‑to‑day operational support across all departments including manufacturing, warehouse, and goods in/out.
  • Support new business development by introducing new technologies, processes, and techniques into existing operations.
  • Help apply the site’s everyone safe every day policy, supporting HSE systems, records, and compliance with ISO 45001 & 14001.
  • Champion HS&E improvements by engaging proactively with colleagues, supervisors, and the HSE team.
  • Assist in the application and maintenance of the Quality Management System in line with ISO 9001:2015.
  • Support in the resolution of quality issues as they arise.
  • Mentor, coach, and train both new starters and existing team members.
  • Support plant and site maintenance, carrying out basic maintenance tasks and coordinating with contractors or FM teams as needed.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement across all operational areas to strengthen our service and overall business performance.
  • Carry out additional operational duties as required.
What you will bring:
  • A proactive, hands‑on individual who is comfortable working across multiple disciplines.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and respond quickly to changing operational needs.
  • Confident communicator who can work effectively with colleagues at all levels.
  • A willingness to learn new skills, technologies, and processes.
  • Experience in a manufacturing, engineering, or operational environment.
  • A positive, “can‑do” attitude and a commitment to quality and safety.
