Laboratory Manager

Overview

A successful materials testing lab is looking for a new manager to oversee daily operations, safety, and efficiency of their laboratories in Leeds while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, managing the testing and customer service teams, and coordinating resources to support testing and quality assurance activities.

• Oversee daily operations of the laboratories in Leeds, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant performance.
• Ensure and maintain compliance with regulatory standards, including ISO 17025 and UKAS requirements.
• Manage testing and customer service teams, including allocation of resources and prioritisation of workloads.
• Coordinate resources to support testing and quality assurance activities across services.
• Promote a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
• Identify opportunities to introduce new services or enhance current delivery to improve overall operation.

• Strong knowledge of ISO 17025 and experience working with UKAS to ensure compliance.
• Experience in a laboratory environment and broad technical background across laboratory services; knowledge of material testing is useful.
• Confident, well‑organised laboratory professional with the ability to lead teams and drive compliance.
