Supplier Quality Engineer

Our client are a leading manufacturer of engineered products and due to continued growth they wish to appoint a Supplier Quality Engineer. The appointed candidate will have a practical understanding of generic quality principles and must have experience working within a supplier quality focused role for a manufacturing business. Within this role there will be occasional travel to visit suppliers in order to build stable relationships and the opportunity to develop processes and new ways of working.

• Contribute supplier development and process improvements plans, audits and performance management
• Leading the relocation of parts from one supplier to another, providing overall project management of the component transfers to a suitable conclusion
• Working with suppliers to develop a robust improvement plan
• Conduct system/process audits both internally and at potential and existing suppliers
• Liaise with suppliers and other team members to resolve problems and manage all quality related issues within the manufacturing team
• Conduct quality defect investigations and use route cause analysis to prevent any re occurrences of fault
• Work with manufacturing and design on DFM procedures to improve production cycle time

• Minimum of one years' experience in a supply quality focused position
• Personable and flexible, with a commercial outlook
• Strong people and supplier management skills with a keen eye for detail
• Disciplined but practical approach to processes and procedures
