We’re on the lookout for a tenacious, detail obsessed Payroll Specialist to join us on a 12 month fixed term contract
. This is your chance to take full ownership of our end-to-end payroll service, from first input to post payroll reporting and make a real impact in a role that people across Yorkshire Housing depend on.
In this stand-alone role, you’ll be the go to expert for all things payroll and pensions, responsible for delivering a smooth, accurate and compliant service every month. You'll:
- Run the full end-to-end payroll process - nothing is outsourced, so this is your world to own.
- Ensure colleagues are paid correctly and on time, every time.
- Manage statutory payments and legislative compliance (SSP, SMP, PAYE, NI etc.)
- Oversee pension administration including auto-enrolment and provider reconciliations.
- Produce RTI submissions, year-end returns, P60s, P11
Ds and all the other essentials that keep us compliant. - Partner with Finance to deliver accurate reporting and reconciliations.
- Tackle queries with empathy, patience and professionalism - even when the pressure is on.
This role will suit someone who’s been the payroll person before - someone who knows the rhythm, the pressures, and the satisfaction of delivering a flawless payroll process end‑to‑end. You’ll bring:
- Strong background in a payroll role, taking full ownership of payroll delivery.
- Deep understanding of end‑to‑end and post‑payroll processes, including statutory and pension requirements.
- Comfortable working independently - you’ll be the payroll expert here.
- Highly accurate, methodical and naturally organised.
- A resilient problem‑solver who doesn’t give up when things get complex.
- Experience with IRIS or Cascade is a bonus, but not a deal‑breaker.
In return for your expertise, we’re offering a salary of £38,378.71 per year for this 12 month fixed term contract
, you’ll work a 35-hour week, get 26 days annual leave which rises to 31 plus Bank Holidays.
