We're working exclusively with a well-known Leeds shopper marketing agency that's looking for a Business Development Manager to play a key role in its next phase of growth.
They've built a fantastic reputation, work with some brilliant clients and have plenty of ambition. Now they're looking for someone who can help them win more of the right work.
This isn't about endless cold calling or chasing leads for the sake of it. It's about spotting opportunities, opening doors, building genuine relationships and turning conversations into long-term commercial partnerships.
You'll have real ownership of new business development, working closely with the senior team to identify opportunities, win new clients and help shape the agency's future growth.
What you'll be doingIdentifying and developing new business opportunities across target sectors and prospective clients.
Building strong relationships with senior decision-makers, brands and potential partners.
Uncovering growth opportunities within existing client groups, including other brands and parent organisations.
Building and managing a healthy new business pipeline through networking, events, CRM and referrals.
Working closely with the senior team to develop compelling propositions and pitches.
Leading new business meetings, presentations and commercial conversations.
Taking ownership of opportunities from initial introduction through to securing new work.
Proven experience in agency new business or business development, ideally within shopper, retail, creative or integrated marketing.
A strong track record of generating opportunities, winning business and delivering against revenue targets.
Brilliant relationship-building skills and the confidence to engage with senior decision-makers.
Strong commercial awareness, with an understanding of how agencies win profitable, sustainable work.
A proactive, self-motivated approach and the resilience to keep things moving when opportunities take time.
The ability to think strategically while being equally happy rolling your sleeves up and making things happen.
Most importantly, you're someone who genuinely enjoys meeting people, spotting opportunities and building relationships. You're persistent without being pushy, commercially minded without being overly salesy, and you know how to turn a good conversation into something meaningful.
Why it's worth a look£80k OTE. A £50k basic salary with significant additional earning potential.
An established agency with a strong reputation. You're not starting from scratch. There's already a great client base and plenty to build on.
Genuine ownership. The opportunity to shape the new business approach and make a real commercial impact.
A relationship-led approach. The emphasis is on building valuable, long-term partnerships rather than simply hitting activity targets.
