Relief Security Officer

1 shift a week – 8 hrs guaranteed.

£12.60 per hour (standard); £16.18 when covering sickness and holiday on the Leeds Store Detective Team.

• Protect customer property, people, and assets by providing security services in accordance with the site's Assignment Instructions.
• Deliver results that meet or exceed the Key Performance Indicators / Service Level Agreements, maintaining full responsibility and accountability.
• Undertake additional training as required to ensure continuous self‑development.

• Ensure compliance with all policies, legal, and regulatory requirements directed by the Security Account Manager and UK law.
• Complete all tasks and duties on site as defined within the published Assignment Instructions.
• Review the Assignment Instructions to identify and suggest service improvements.
• Maintain required front‑line licence (Security Guarding or Door Supervision) and CCTV PSS SIA Licence, renewing licences 16 weeks before expiry.
• Comply with all legal obligations and safety requirements.
• Follow instructions without unnecessarily challenging authority.
• Work systematically and orderly.

• Complete all required competency training.
• Undertake additional training for continuous development.
• Use technology to achieve key objectives and develop job knowledge.

• Immediately report health and safety hazards.
• Stay alert to threats and changes, taking appropriate action.
• Use common sense and involve others if a situation becomes threatening.
• Maintain professional conduct with difficult customers.
• Record detailed notebook entries after incidents for the Incident Report process.
• Adhere to schedules and commitments to Mitie and the client.
• Ensure check calls are carried out as scheduled.
• Call emergency services and Communication Centre to report incidents.

• Previous security experience.
• Valid SIA Front‑Line Licence.
• SC Clearance desirable.
