Who are we looking for?

We are seeking a highly skilled SIA Licensed Security Officer based in Leeds to create a secure and safe environment for all staff and visitors on site. The role involves applying thorough access control procedures, conducting site inductions, performing planned and ad‑hoc patrols, and carrying out additional duties as directed by Assignment Instructions. In emergencies, you will follow prescribed escalation and communication procedures with Site Management, Corps colleagues and the emergency services.

You will work 36 hours per week, with shifts including two days and one night on selected days, from 0630 to 1830/1830 to 0630.

What You Will Need
  • Excellent communication skills and a strong customer focus.
  • A valid SIA Front‑Line Licence – essential.
  • A full UK manual driving licence – essential.
  • A valid SIA CCTV Licence – desirable.
  • Ability to work to deadlines, multitask and work under pressure.
  • Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office (e.g., Excel).
  • Capability to achieve vetting to BS7858 Standards.
What Are You Going To Do
  • Maintain overall surveillance of the site and carry out regular patrols, recording them as per Corps and Customer requirements.
  • Ensure all visitors and contractors are correctly briefed and sign in/out of the site.
  • Record the entry and exit of deliveries on site, including processing paperwork in line with quality procedures.
  • Carry out patrols to the correct standards.
  • Set and unset primary and secondary alarm security systems for out‑of‑hours security provision if applicable.
  • Comply with site waste management procedures.
  • Complete required documents, including daily occurrence logs, shift handovers, incident/accident records and any site‑specific reports.
  • Become familiar with Assignment Instructions, Risk Assessments, and other quality & safety documents; advise the Corps Duty Manager or client personnel on any changes or recommendations to improve.
  • Maintain your own training records via the Corps Colleague Portal, ensuring your skills remain up to date, and that your first aid and fire marshal training are in accordance with legislative guidelines.
  • Continuously apply your SIA skills, maintaining a high level of professionalism; your SIA licence must always be displayed.
  • Perform ad hoc duties as directed.
