What will the role look like?

The purpose of this role is to provide short term work; our standard model is around 6‑8 sessions of therapeutic support and will be dependent on assessment of presenting issues and engagement. In some instances, this may be extended. For the current school’s vacancy a 12‑session model is routinely offered.

Referrals are made into this service via the cluster’s multi‑agency Support and Guidance process.

The successful individual will provide integrative evidence‑based therapeutic interventions where consent and motivation criteria are met for children in primary and secondary schools.

What we are looking for?

The successful candidate will produce work on time and to a consistently high standard, keep up to date with child protection issues, current policy and procedure, undertake project and practice evaluation as directed, monitor your work and write reports as required and work multi‑professionally in the best interest of the client.

This role would suit a counsellor who is comfortable and adept at adapting the way they work to engage with young people in creative ways where needed.
