Position: Counsellor (Casual / Bank)

The Role

We’re looking for an experienced and dedicated qualified Counsellor who shares GIPSIL’s values of Compassion, Courage and Collaboration. You’ll play a key role in coordinating and delivering a high quality Community based Counselling service for parents/carers.

Key Responsibilities

Working closely with the Counselling Coordinator, you’ll support the effective running of the parent counselling service. You will provide one-to-one counselling for parents/carers and support with initial assessments where necessary. You’ll work collaboratively with the Counselling Coordinator to develop the parent counselling service. You will manage your own caseload, maintaining records and meeting reporting requirements as appropriate to ensure best practice.

  • A recognised Counselling qualification (minimum Diploma level)
  • Experience in Counselling adults, including those from disadvantaged backgrounds
  • A willingness and ability to support with initial assessments.
  • A compassionate, professional approach
  • A collaborative mindset and a commitment to working as part of a supportive team
  • Courage to work with congruence, empathy and acceptance.
