Software Developer – Cloud (AWS)

Location:

Leeds – Hybrid role 3 days per week on client sites. SC clearance required (or eligible).

We’re looking for an experienced Cloud Developer (AWS) to join a collaborative, Dev Ops‑driven engineering team, working on the design and development of scalable, cloud native applications. You’ll be hands‑on building and maintaining backend services using modern programming languages and AWS managed services, contributing to secure, well‑architected solutions that run s role suits a developer with strong cloud experience who enjoys owning features end‑to‑end, working closely with peers, and continuously improving how software is built, deployed, and operated in a modern AWS environment.

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using AWS managed services.
• Build and manage CI/CD pipelines with Git and Git Hub Actions.
• Implement security best practices, including RBAC, the principle of least privilege, Secrets Manager, and KMS.
• Work with dynamic data stores such as Dynamo
  
  DB and relational databases.
• Deploy, monitor, and debug applications using tools like Datadog, Cloud Watch.
• Use Docker, ECS, Cloud Formation, Step Functions, and other AWS services.

• 5‑7 years of overall experience in software development using Kotlin/Java, Node.js, Type Script, and SQL.
• Proficiency with key AWS services: S3, Athena, Glue, Lambda, Dynamo
  
  DB, Open Search, Cloud Formation, API Gateway, ECS, Cloud Watch.
• Experience with No
  
  SQL and SQL databases;
  Dynamo
  
  DB common.
• Strong understanding of AWS security principles: RBAC, least privilege, Secrets Manager, KMS.
• CI/CD experience, strong Git workflow, Git Hub Actions.
• Knowledge of Docker, ECS, Cloud Formation.
• Monitoring/debugging experience with Datadog, Cloud Watch.
• Familiarity with Angular framework and Dev Sec Ops  concepts.
• Growth mindset and excellent communication & collaboration skills.
