About Us

We are a high-performance Formula One Team driven by innovation, precision, and passion. Our Software Engineering & Data team plays a critical role in developing software solutions that support every aspect of our team that enables performance on and off the track.

The Role

You will be part of a collaborative team consisting of Software Engineers, AI Engineers and Platform Engineers, working together to improve all areas of the team—from car design and manufacturing to performance analysis at the track, to help the team to achieve our ultimate goal of winning the Formula One world championship.

This placement is designed for students eager to apply their academic knowledge to real-world challenges in Formula One. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the support and evolution of existing tools, as well as to create new solutions that impact car performance, race strategy, and engineering processes.

Working alongside experienced engineers, you'll gain exposure to the full Software Development Lifecycle, from requirements gathering and technical design through to implementation, testing, deployment, and operational support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the development, testing, and deployment of software applications under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Collaborate with engineers across departments to understand requirements and deliver software solutions.
  • Actively participate in the operational phase of our Software Development Lifecycle, troubleshooting issues and presenting findings clearly to technical stakeholders.
Who We’re Looking For
  • Currently studying a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computing, or a related discipline, and seeking an industry placement during your penultimate year of university.
  • A strong interest in the Software Development Lifecycle.
  • Experience with one or more programming languages such as C#, Python or similar imperative languages.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a logical and methodical approach.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively within a team.
  • Proactive, accountable, detail-oriented, and eager to learn in a fast-paced, high-performance environment.
  • You must have the right to work in the UK, as we cannot provide sponsorship for this role.
What We Offer in Return

At Alpine Formula One Team, you won’t just contribute; you’ll make a direct impact on race car performance at the pinnacle of motor sport. Working alongside some of the most talented individuals in the industry, you’ll help shape innovation on a global stage.

Our purpose-built facilities in Enstone provide the perfect environment to thrive. We offer a competitive salary, private medical healthcare, full access to our free on-site gym, a fully catered restaurant with a daily allowance and a wide range of additional benefits designed to support your wellbeing and growth.
