We’re looking for an experienced Data Engineer to join a major enterprise data and AI transformation programme, working through a leading Managed Service Provider.
This is an initial 3-month contract with likely extensions, offering £750–£800 per day Inside IR35 and requiring 2 days per week on-site in Manchester or Leeds.
You’ll be working within a complex, enterprise-scale environment, building the data pipelines and platforms that underpin AI/LLM and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING- Designing and building scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines
- Developing cloud-native data solutions within GCP
- Engineering data platforms to support AI/LLM and RAG solutions
- Building large-scale data ingestion, processing and enrichment capabilities
- Developing event-driven architectures using Kafka
- Building automation and data engineering solutions using Python and SQL
- Supporting enterprise search, indexing and data retrieval capabilities
- Ensuring data quality, governance, lineage and scalability
- Strong commercial GCP experience
- Excellent Python and SQL skills
- Strong Kafka / event-driven architecture experience
- Experience working within large-scale enterprise environments
- Exposure to AI/LLM and RAG solutions
- Experience with Big Query, vector databases, graph technologies or enterprise search would be beneficial
