We’re recruiting a Level 3 qualified mechanic at Leeds Workshop on a Permanent contract, with the potential to earn up between £50k - £70k including overtime.
Working HoursFull time - Average of 39.5 hours per week over the 5 week shift pattern including a 30 minute unpaid meal break (rotating shift pattern; week 1:
Monday 06:00 - 15:30 Tuesday - Friday 06:00 - 15:00, week 2:
Monday - Thursday 21:30 - 06:00, week 3:
Wednesday - Sunday 06:00 - 14:30, week 4: Monday - Friday 12:30 - 22:00 and week 5: Monday - Friday 06:00 - 14:30).
- Salary: £40,906 plus a night shift allowance of £135.32 per week when working the 21:30 - 06:00 shift and a shift allowance of £90.21 per week when working 12:30 - 22:00 shift.
- Additional weekend supplement on Saturday (£53.66 per shift) and Sunday (£107.33 per shift) is applicable.

The Role
- With a Fleet of over 49,000 vehicles, including traditional fuel and electric vehicles, LCVs and HGVs, maintaining our vehicles is a true team effort. - You’ll perform a full range of inspections, diagnostic, maintenance, and repair procedures on a range of HGV vehicles, trailers, and mechanical equipment.
- You’ll use your own personal toolkit to undertake routine maintenance and repair heavy goods vehicles.
- You’ll also have access to specialist tooling and shared equipment in our modern, fully equipped workshops.
- Qualified mechanic: you’re fully qualified to an advanced level (IMI Level 3 in Heavy vehicle maintenance or equivalent). You’ve got your own toolkit for standard repairs.
- Varied vehicle experience:
Proven Vehicle Technician experience working on a wide range of vehicles, for example HGV. - Valid UK driving licence:
You hold a full manual UK driving licence, preferably an HGV licence with trailer experience. - High working standards: you take pride in your work and do what is necessary to make sure the job is done effectively.
- Flexible to service demands: you’re able to work on a flexible shift rota. You’re always willing to support your team where necessary.
