Responsibilities

  • Comply with HMRC regulations when exporting goods from the UK for the Dowty business.
  • Prepare Customer Orders and Supplier Purchase Orders for international or UK shipment, from receipt of product or service into dispatch, and handle export requirements such as licences/EUUs and re‑export in case of IPR entries to discharge customs liabilities.
  • Include outside supplier processing and repair shipments as well as RTV (Return to Vendor).
  • Complete necessary shipments and documentation within a compliant environment, maintaining the integrity of the business system, and complying with financial and quality audit regulations for the Dowty business. Maintain stock assets and review delivery issues regularly.
  • Act on non‑conforming stock in accordance with quality procedures.
  • Prepare shipping paperwork.
  • Raise and print customs invoices.
  • Create shipper’s letter of instruction.
  • Print documents.
  • Confirm shipments.
  • Record freight forwarder information.
  • Update export log.
  • Process any returns and corrections.
  • Prepare collections.
  • Coordinate paperwork to raise airway bills and request collection by agents or couriers based on current incoterms.
  • Provide weights and dimensions.
  • Provide information to customers and freight companies.
  • Complete the TMS (Exostar) process for Lockheed Martin shipments.
  • Complete the OMB process for Boeing shipments.
  • Complete the DHL Clear It process to obtain C88 for road freight exports.
  • Raise any concerns with documentation, items or packing.
  • Work compliantly with export regulations for military parts.
  • Maintain awareness and training regarding aviation security regulation.
  • Explain relevant customs codes using CPC codes.
  • File documents—delivery notes, invoices, airway bills or additional paperwork raised and release forms—on‑site and off‑site to locations such as Iron Mountain.
  • Perform quality release (subject to passing qualification); access the quality release code and source inspection information from the sales orders screen’s descriptive flex field (DFF) and print the required release document.
  • Sign electronically on documentation as per release approval—passport: all parts and materials excluding LRUs. Training for signing of Form 1 or C of C is required upon successful completion of training and meeting qualification requirements.
  • Handle AOG (Aircraft on Ground) requirements, including out‑of‑hours AOG rota after qualifying period.
  • Process and respond to AOG requests in a timely manner.
  • Attend daily CCC/PCC to determine priorities.
  • Provide cover for dispatch packing, stores and goods‑in as business requires.
  • Demonstrate good practice in inventory control and maintain accuracy.
  • Update data accurately in the business system as required.
  • Generate shipping reports, outstanding dispatch reports and export log detail reports.

Contract:

18‑month fixed term.

Qualifications
  • Previous warehouse packing experience (desired).
  • Familiarity with manufacturing environment—aerospace preferred.
  • Proven knowledge of shipping documentation and systems.
  • Competence in the use of computerised systems.
  • Current and valid forklift licence (desired).
  • Known consignor qualification (desired).
  • Oracle R12 experience.
  • Successful completion of required training and qualifications for quality release and AOG procedures.
