Class 1 Driver PM​/NIGHTS

Temporary to Permanent - Class 1 PM Drivers Required - FULL TIME

Freeway are looking for HGV 1 PM Drivers who are looking for a full time role.

Shifts:

Sunday to Thursday (5 shifts)

Job Description:

Our client is looking to hire Class 1 PM Drivers who are looking for full time employment. Freeway are looking for experienced Class 1 PM or Night Drivers who are committed and wanting to accept a full time role.

Most of the Class 1 PMs Driver role is ensuring that the national trunk runs are fulfilled. This involves trunking goods to and from national RDCs most of which are internal trunks depot-depot, both delivery off loads and collections. No handballing of goods.

Shift length times are usually 8-9 hours, on rare occasions 10-11 hours. Our customer works on a weekly working average of 45hrs tracked maximum, but most full time drivers complete 40 hours per week on average.

Successful candidates will work via Freeway agency for 8 weeks before full time employment contract start date. Minimum 8 hour pay applies via agency if a driver works under 8 hours. All driver are paid for total hours worked minus legal daily driving break.

Once full time you will receive salaried pay, paid every month based on a 45hr contract.

Class 1 Driver is required to work shift start times between 1300pm and 2200pm. Due to the nature of the business start times can change.

This Class 1 PM /Night will suit Drivers who are able to operate flexibility on PM and Night time start times. When a Driver starts at 1000pm, their trunk run will finish no later than 0700am the following day.

Requirements:

* Be competent and able to follow Health & Safety practises and procedures at all time

* Be reliable and hold excellent time keeping

* Hold a flexible ‘can do’ attitude to your work

* Good command of English both written and spoken

* Excellent communication skills

* Keep vehicle is kept clean and tidy at all times

* Have excellent geographic knowledge of UK road network

* Have a positive attitude and a professional work ethic

* Smart appearance, as you will be representing Freeway Recruitment & our client

* check in transport before parking up for the night.

Qualifications / training / experience:

You must be able to provide the following.

* Valid Class 1 driving licence

* Valid Digital tachograph card

* Valid Driver CPC card

* Have No more than 6 current points on licence for separate 3pt offences (No DR/DD/IN Driving offences accepted)

* 2 work check-able work references

Pay

PM/Nights:

£19.00ph (Holiday accrued)

£21.29ph (Holiday paid out in advance)
