HGV Class 1 General Haulage Driver – Long Distance & Tramping – Worcestershire – Temp to Perm 1–2 DRIVERS REQUIRED | £16.00 PER HOUR PAYE | 13-WEEK TEMP TO PERM | 50–55 HOURS PER WEEK Description Millison Chase Limited is recruiting 1–2 experienced HGV Class 1 CE Drivers for a well-established general haulage operation covering Worcestershire and the surrounding areas.

This is an excellent opportunity for professional drivers looking for long-term, full-time employment , with a genuine opportunity to secure a permanent position following an initial 13-week temporary assignment . The role involves driving articulated vehicles on long-distance general haulage work , transporting palletised and general freight throughout the UK. No two days are the same! Routes, destinations and start times will vary depending on customer requirements, so drivers must be flexible and comfortable with the changing nature of general haulage.

There will be occasional nights out , although this is not a full-time tramping position. Drivers will return home on many shifts. The work involves operating curtain-sided double-decker trailers , so previous experience with this equipment is essential. Pay & Progression Initial 13 Weeks – Millison Chase PAYE £16.00 per hour PAYE with holiday pay accrued separately OR £17.93 per hour PAYE including 12.07% rolled-up holiday pay Weekly pay directly through Millison Chase Limited No umbrella companies Average 50–55 working hours per week Genuine temporary-to-permanent opportunity after 13 weeks Once Permanent – Direct Employment with the Client £16.30 per hour for the first 10 hours worked each day £17.80 per hour for hours worked after the first 10 hours each day Average 50–55 hours per week Long-term, full-time employment Illustrative Permanent Weekly Earnings Based on a five-day working week: 50 hours: £815.00 gross 55 hours: £889.00 gross , assuming 11 hours worked each day Actual earnings will depend on the hours worked and how they are distributed across individual shifts.

Responsibilities Drive HGV Class 1 CE articulated vehicles Operate curtain-sided double-decker trailers Complete long-distance general haulage deliveries and collections Transport palletised and general freight throughout the UK Complete occasional nights out when required Safely secure loads using appropriate restraints and internal strapping Complete daily vehicle and trailer safety checks Follow customer delivery and collection procedures Complete delivery paperwork and proof of delivery Follow Drivers' Hours, Working Time and Tachograph regulations Maintain a professional and positive attitude Requirements Valid HGV Class 1 CE Licence Valid Driver CPC Valid Digital Tachograph Card Previous Class 1 driving experience essential – no newly qualified drivers on this occasion Experience operating curtain-sided double-decker trailers is essential Previous general haulage and long-distance driving experience Flexible regarding daily start times and routes Comfortable with occasional nights away Looking for long-term, full-time employment Excellent attitude, reliability and professionalism Location Requirement Applicants should live within reasonable commuting distance of the operating area, ideally around:
