Job Overview

We are looking for a Maintenance Technician based at our site in Leek. The role involves working as part of a small multi‑skilled team to perform routine maintenance procedures and help troubleshoot and quickly repair any mechanical or electrical problems with the manufacturing processes and supporting equipment and systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance procedures on mechanical and electrical equipment.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and repair of manufacturing processes and supporting equipment and systems.
  • Support a small multi‑skilled team across maintenance, operations, quality and engineering.
  • Collaborate with specialised external contractors to keep production running safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, job sheets and compliance documentation.
  • Work Monday to Friday with an on‑call rota out of hours.
  • Model and promote a positive culture in line with Croda values.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Level 3 or higher electrical or mechanical qualification with relevant industry experience.
  • Hands‑on maintenance and repair of mechanical and electrical equipment (pumps, valves, motors, instrumentation).
  • Competent with hand tools, diagnostic instruments and calibration equipment.
  • Knowledge of permit‑to‑work, lock‑out/tag‑out procedures.
  • Experience with electronic maintenance management systems such as SAP PM.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; eye for detail.
  • Good IT skills (email, web applications).
  • Commitment to safety, health, environmental and quality standards.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and demonstrate initiative.
  • Desirable:
    Basic understanding of chemical or pharmaceutical manufacturing processes, PLC/DCS fault‑finding, R‑Ca tools.
