Reference librarians provide library instruction and reference assistance to community college students. The librarians also assist with circulation duties, Lib Guides, online research services, and collection development.
Minimum qualifications are an ALA-accredited Master of Library Science degree. Preferred qualifications include reference and circulation experience, teaching or library instruction experience, experience with electronic resources, academic library experience, customer service experience, good communication and interpersonal skills.
Preference will be given to candidates who can work mornings Monday through Thursday.
The pay rate is $38.16 per hour, not eligible for benefits. Adjunct librarians typically work 19.5 hours or less each week while MCC classes are in session. Summer hours vary. Hours aren’t available during holidays and college breaks.
