The Printing Maintenance Technician provides technical support to the print cell team by ensuring that the machines are maintained, repaired, and operating at optimum efficiency. Technicians are responsible for machine changeovers and preventative maintenance on all printing machines, communicating machine issues, reporting performance and repairs to Team Members and Management. They are responsible for completing required documentation, work orders, log books and company records.
They are also responsible for contributing to a human work environment where fairness, equity and non-discriminatory practices are the standard.
This position is in a fast-paced, production environment.
The hours for this role are Monday through Friday overnight from 10:45pm to 7:00am.
Position Responsibilities- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical machine issues by identifying, reporting, and performing emergency repairs.
- Execute work orders and other repairs (e.g. Clean and lubricate machines).
- Communicate to the Group Lead or Production Supervisor of any performance issues and repairs that would and/or could affect production, safety or quality.
- Execute the following changeover duties efficiently; mandrel changes, flame set-up, feeder re-stacker, change conveyors, change counter, fine tune flame re-stacker, change or set-up feed screws, sanitize machine and sign-off.
- Record the production issues on the shift reports.
- Update schedule board with equipment issues.
- Maintain and clean color heads ensuring they run efficiently and smoothly.
- Regularly inspect machine parts (including filters, exhaust pipes, cooling systems, conveyor belts, etc.)
Educational Requirements: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
Minimum Experience / Field: Minimum two years’ experience working in maintenance in a fast-paced or high-speed environment. At least 5 years’ experience preferred. Ability to troubleshoot and make repairs using machine shop equipment. Ability to replace bearings, bushings, shafts, gears and belts. Must be able to read and understand blueprints. Good basic understanding of the principles of pneumatics. Proficient in the use of mechanics’ hand tools and in using precision measuring tools.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand and walk for extended periods of time, crawl and kneel in tight spaces, and perform repetitive body movements.

Proven track record working with people and problem resolution and strong interpersonal, collaboration skills
Additional Education / Experience /
Skills:
Proven ability to root cause and determine permanent corrective actions and general knowledge of injection molding and thermoforming processes. Effective planning and organizational skills and ability to manage significant workload including conflicting priorities. Proven ability to deliver results
- Ability to perform work in compliance with company safety rules and HACCP practices.
- Ability to read blueprints
