American Traveler is seeking an experienced ER RN for a community hospital emergency department, requiring 2+ years of recent specialty experience, charge RN experience, and a MO or compact RN license.
Details- Community hospital with 240 staffed beds and 32 ER rooms
- General Emergency Department treating combined adult and pediatric patients
- STEMI and Stroke Certified facility
- Patient ratio of 1:4
- Day shift, 3x12 hour shifts with varied start times of 10am, 11am, and 12pm
- Required to work every third weekend, 8 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule (combination of Friday/Saturday/Sunday)
- Floating required within scope to all SLHS Metro Emergency Departments, including other departments, units, and facilities as needed
- Holiday shifts and Charge RN assignments required as needed
- No on-call requirement
- Epic charting system required
- Active MO RN license or compact license required (KS license also required due to floating needs)
- Minimum 2 years of recent ER specialty experience required, with no employment gaps greater than 90 days in the past year
- Previous Charge RN experience required
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS
- Procedural Sedation Administration/Monitoring experience preferred
- Near drowning pediatric experience preferred
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Proficient in a wide range of ER skills including pediatric emergencies, psychiatric crises, IV therapy, respiratory management, cardiac monitoring, and orthopedic splinting
- Two professional references required: one supervisor-level or above, and one charge RN, both from within the past year
- Provide emergency care across adult and pediatric populations in a high-acuity ER setting
- Manage dysrhythmias, multisystem organ dysfunction, and perform 12-lead EKGs
- Navy scrub color required
- Maximum RTO of 7 days, with all time-off requests finalized at time of submission
- No new RTO or schedule changes permitted after submission or offer
- First-time travelers not accepted for this position
- Local candidates not accepted; must reside at least 75 miles from the facility
- Returning staff must have an 18-month tenure with a 3-month break in service; former permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
