Job ResponsibilitiesThe detailer will use their manual dexterity and bodily coordination to perform an array of tasks, including:
- Washing the exterior of vehicles using various cleaning solutions.
- Waxing and buffing vehicles using cloths and buffing machines.
- Vacuuming the interior of automobiles to remove dirt and debris.
- Cleaning upholstery and surfaces, using air compressors and cloths to dry.
- Applying preservation chemicals to protect surfaces against spots and stains.
- Using dyes, paints and waxes to protect leather or fabric.
- Cleaning and removing grease on engines or engine compartments.
- Carrying out additional duties as assigned by management due to operational needs.
- Physically demanding position requiring frequent movement such as bending, lifting, reaching, squatting, and getting in and out of vehicles.
- Work may be performed outdoors and under varying climate conditions.
- Work with and move numerous vehicles throughout the shift.
- Use of safe and OSHA approved waxes and cleaners such as window cleaner, tar remover, tire shine.
- Frequent flexing of spine, hands, wrists, and fingers.
- Occasional pushing, pulling, lifting, or carrying of up to 50 lbs.
- Constantly receive detailed information through oral communication.
- Clear vision and hearing required.
- Spotting small imperfections such as streaks on windows, smudges on painted surfaces, missed vacuuming, and performing quality inspections.
- Work with a sense of urgency to respect customers' time.
- Strict adherence to uniform and grooming standards.
Piecework.
Ideal Candidate- 1 or more years of detailing experience.
- A valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
- Ability to learn quickly.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
- Desire to treat each customer’s personal vehicle with great care and respect.
- Willingness to arrive on time and stay on task while on the clock.
- Ability to drive both automatic and manual vehicles.
- Availability to work Saturdays, Sundays and holidays as required.
- Commitment to report to work on time and stay on task during shift.
