About the Front Desk Associate Role

The Front Desk Associate is the face of Planet Fitness, providing a superior level of customer service to members, prospective members, and guests while ensuring an exceptional “Judgement Free” member experience.

Responsibilities
  • Greet members and guests as they enter and exit the club, assisting with check‑in questions or concerns.
  • Promote the Judgement Free Zone® by connecting with members on the floor, offering assistance, and showing support in their fitness journeys while upholding club policies.
  • Resolve member concerns and promptly escalated to a Manager when necessary.
  • Answer phones in a friendly manner and assist callers with inquiries.
  • Perform membership‑related functions such as sign‑ups, contact/billing updates, cancellations, collecting unpaid balances, and transferring memberships.
  • Conduct prospective member calls and tours, assessing membership needs.
  • Execute retail transactions accurately and pursue sales goals.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of all exercise equipment, Black Card spa amenities, and shared spaces.
  • Ensure restrooms are clean, sanitized, stocked, and clutter‑free per the cleaning schedule.
  • Conduct comprehensive walk‑throughs of all club areas, quickly fixing safety or cleanliness issues.
  • Address maintenance and facility concerns such as broken equipment, leaky faucets, or missing fixtures.
Qualifications
  • 6–12 months of customer service experience preferred.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Willingness to become CPR/AED certified (training provided).
  • Basic computer proficiency.
Physical Demands
  • Continual standing and movement throughout the club.
  • Continual communication in person or by phone.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Exposure to toxic chemicals during cleaning activities.
  • Frequency of cleaning and sanitizing equipment and facilities.
  • Regular bending, twisting, and other movements to accomplish tasks.
