Repair Station Chief Inspector

This position requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience to include a minimum of ten years’ experience with at least six (6) years in maintaining complex, large category, multi-engine, turbine-powered, fixed wing or rotor-craft aircraft to include complex airframe modifications. Should have five (5) years’ experience as quality assurance supervisor in FAA FAR Part 145 Repair Station and three years in FAA FAR Part 145, 121 and or 125 facility management experience.

This position requires travel to the field for compliance checks both domestically and internationally as well.

The Chief Inspector directs the Quality Assurance Inspectors to ensure that all maintenance processes and procedures are completed as described in Firehawk Helicopters Part 145 Repair Station and FAA approved Inspection Procedure Manuals. To assure that all procedures are complied with through inspections, work in progress inspections and completed inspections. Maintains all maintenance records to meet the 145 Repair Station guidelines, Company procedures , FAA regulations and Customer.

Acts as the site trainer on all maintenance procedures and documentation.

• Overall responsibility to ensure that Company Quality Assurance processes and procedures are in compliance with the customer and FAA Inspection Procedure Manuals.
• Official representative to the Customer and all Regulatory Agencies regarding maintenance inspection practices and procedures to ensure continuous airworthiness of all aircraft in compliance with Company and FAA maintenance manuals.
• Make recommendations for Company capabilities to properly perform maintenance services within regulatory and contractual guidelines.
• Maintain the technical library necessary to perform maintenance, preventive maintenance and modifications.
• Submit required reports of defects or non-airworthy conditions to the Customer and the FAA and ensure proper execution of the prescribed regulatory forms for major repair or major modifications, in addition assist authorized representatives of the Customer / FAA in conducting an inspection of aircraft and facilities.
• Ensure that the Company is in compliance with all requirements regarding the Site Repair Station.
• Periodically monitor calibration records for precision tools and test equipment ensuring that calibration is traceable to N.I.S.T.; includes precision equipment owned by maintenance technicians and inspection staff.
• Perform facility audits to ensure proper housekeeping is being maintained and that Company maintains compliance with its approved Inspection Procedures Manuals.
• Complete and forward Service Difficulty Reports of all serious defects found during maintenance and inspection.
• Responsible for return to service documentation in aircraft maintenance records.
• Ensure that Company maintenance and inspection training programs are effective and that proper records of training are being maintained per regulatory requirements.
• Accountable for maintaining a list of each qualified inspectors in accordance with Part 145 repair station requirements.
