- Works under the direction of the Director of Therapy Services and/or the Supervisor of Therapy Services.
- The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) provides direct patient care to all those patients referred for SLP at UF Health Leesburg, TVRH Rehabilitation Hospital, and UF Health The Villages.
- The SLP participates in all team conferences, staff meetings and any other appropriate meetings deemed necessary by the specific unit.
- The SLP interacts on a professional basis with all Therapy Team members, and is able to understand and react effectively to the unique needs of patients in reference to specific age groups.
- The SLP demonstrates knowledge and support of discipline specific standards of care as defined by the Florida Department of Health, Board of SLP.
- The therapist provides instruction and assistance to all Therapy Team members and acts in compliance with the ethical conduct of the organization at all times.
